Pain after retrieval day?

I know this should be an irrelevant question at this point but I would really like to know what kind of pain you are in after egg retrieval? I can’t take time off work after so I want to know what I’m getting myself into so I’m prepared! Does the doctor give you anything for the pain?

I wasn’t really in pain. I just felt super bloated, dizzy, and nauseated. For about 2 days, every time I stood up, I felt like I was going to pass out. Sitting and laying, I felt fine after the first night. I think everyone is different, so it’s hard to say, but try to get as much rest as you can! Good luck!!!

I’m currently still recovering. Egg retrieval on Thursday last week, transfer on Tuesday this week. I still feel a bit bloated and ‘meh’, and not back to normal. However, the hospital have diagnosed me with (mild) ohss. 
I definitely appreciated having some time off work to just relax and recover. Everyone is different but I wouldn’t rush back to work unless you feel back to normal

Mine gave me a prescription meds I forgot what it was.. I was sore and in a pain they retrieved 28 eggs so I was in pain for like 3 days super bloated and stomach felt so tender

I think everyone handles it differently and probably depends on your pain tolerance. I was awake for my retrieval and given a pain pill and Xanax just prior. Afterwards I had some pretty bad cramping the rest of the day and felt sore, but I could handle it. I was not given any pain meds to take home, I think I took ibuprofen for a couple days. I definitely chilled the day of and most of the next day, but I bounced back pretty quick. Just took it easy. Rest and fluids. But I also didn’t have a physical job. I felt pretty normal by a week. Your body will definitely let you know what’s too much.

Mine gave some prescription pain med, I can’t remember which one but it was basically 24 hours worth.    They had me take me first one before going into the OR.  
I had mild discomfort the second day but was pretty tired and slept a lot of it.    If you work a desk job and something mild you’ll likely be fine but if you are on your feed or doing a lot physically you may want an extra 1-2 days off to recoup.
