In laws 🙄🙄

My baby just started on solids. We have tried pureed bananas and first two bites, his face was just "meeeeh, what the heck is this"... few bites later, he loved it.

We are eating Beech Nut brand because I've done extensive research about it in comparison to Gerber and since my goal is to eventually make his food myself (once he starts eating more), I am leaning towards the one that has little to NO preservatives at all, organics even at best. 🙂 Not judging those who use gerber, but my beech nut is my own preference.

Anyways, I shared to my in laws on how he was so confused on his first few bites-- and they chewed me up. They said I should've used Gerber and he would've loved it. I said he loves it now and that it was just the initial bites and they said how awful beech nut is and I should not feed him that.

I backed myself up on the research I've done and told them that just the added sugars in Gerber is something I refuse to give my kid, especially if I have a choice. They said "The sugar makes it good and makes it likeable for him". I said heck no. I don't want him eating unnecessary sugary stuff this young. I mentioned how research have compared both and Beech Nut seemed to have that little edge for me.

My father in law started saying "I don't know where you come up with this stuff"..

Man, I FLIPPED!!! They haven't respected any of my requests as to how to take care of him. They refuse to use the water I provide for his formula (they have bad well water) and they keep insisting their 4 kids survived with that water and my kid should be fine. They refuse to put him down on his bassinet when we come over, they insist on putting him in a bouncer or the floor when he falls asleep. They refused to wait for him to start solids-- I had to work and had to leave him with my inlaws and the next day they told me he has rice cereal 🙄🙄🙄

I told my FIL: "I'm gonna raise my kid the way I want to. You had 4 chances to raise yours. Let me raise mine."

That got them both quiet.

Did I over react? 🤔🤔
