Should I start taking stool softener now?

35+5... I haven't had any poop problems so far but I've heard if I start taking it now it would help the post delivery poop. I thought I should only take it after delivery...no clue what I'm doing😬

Depending on your bowel “schedule”, it may be worth taking a small dose on the lead up to birth.
I take a fibre supplement rather than a stool softener per se and that might be better over a sustained period than the softener. Perhaps your GP or midwife might have a suggestion?

Take miralax! Totally safe and you can start anytime, I take mine like every 3 days full dose with oat milk! My doctor said I could even use colace too with it but I literally don’t think it works personally. This is my second baby btw, and I made the waiting mistake first time around haha, the little bit of help now goes a long way trust me.

Oh my the after delivery poop was bad :/ but I also only took the one pill a day, and then started upping it once things weren’t moving. So maybe ask if you can start on a higher dose?
