Baby is finally here!

It’s been almost 2 weeks since my little guy was born and I’m finally finding the time to write my story 😊 I ended up going into the hospital on my due date, September 11th, with contractions every 3-4 mins that started off feeling like period cramps but continued to get more and more painful. The yoga ball and Tylenol weren’t cutting it anymore lol. My husband and I got to the hospital just before midnight and checked into triage. The nurse established that I was in labor and about 3cm and told me the dr was almost done and would come check me in soon. About 2 hours later I still hadn’t seen the dr and asked about an epidural (I never intended to see how much pain I could handle before getting one lol). Well 2 more hours go by and I was still in triage, no dr and no epidural and I wasn’t happy...the nurse felt bad for me and put me in the tub for a while, which felt nice between contractions but didn’t do much for the pain. Eventually I was in so much pain, and the nurse felt so bad she ended up sneaking me into a room and called the anesthesiologist to get me the epidural and she was there in maybe 45 mins. I don’t think I was handling things well at that point 😂. Finally got it and it was amazing, couldn’t feel any contractions! It felt weird getting the epidural, maybe a little burning but I hardly noticed. After a while my contractions started to slow down so they hooked me up with some piticon and upped it once I believe. But about a half an hour later I was starting to feel everything again, especially on one side of my tail bone the pain was just awful. They checked me again and I was at 7cm and my waters had slowly started leaking. A few hours later they realized the only thing that worked on me was the spinal block meds they pushed before the IV epidural started running. Apparently I metabolize the other medicine too quickly and they wouldn’t give me more because of my size, I’m only 5’1”. So once that wore off I was dying! I managed to convince them to give me one more dose of the spinal but it ended up wearing off a couple hours before I had to push. They kept telling me I’d probably have to push for hours since it was my first and I was just in so much pain and wanted him out. At 4pm on the 12th I started pushing. It was definitely the most I intense and painful thing I’ve ever done. I was shaking so bad and all the nurses were yelling at me to push! All of a sudden they told me stop because he was coming too quickly and the dr wasnt there yet 🤦‍♀️ I tried as hard as I could not to

but finally the dr came in the room and I couldn’t hold off any longer! That ring of fire is no joke 😬 He was born at 4:40pm after 40 mins of pushing. He came out sideways and I had one 2nd degree tear. Right after they laid him on my chest I had a huge BP crash but managed not to pass out when I saw my husbands face and he looked like he thought I was dying! But the nurses sprung into action and got it up again quickly and I was fine after that. My little man, Casper, 8lbs 20.5” long! ❤️❤️❤️
