How many words did your 18 mo say?

And I mean say, intentionally and understand what the word means. My LO basically says eye (while pointing at her eye) otherwise she only babbles or says Mama/Dada. 
She understands everything we say, she just won’t talk. Her pediatrician said she should be able to name 5 things minimum by 
now...

My son will be 18 m next month. No words yet but he understands A LOT. Im not worried until age 2 .

My daughter knew 10-20 however she didn’t walk until 17 months. Every child is different

My daughter was an early talker.  She saying over 50 words by 18 months.  Even said 'what is that' to the doctor asst her one year appointment (doctor didn't believe us that she was saying that, then she did!). 
That said, she didn't walk until she was 17 months.

You’re fine. The most important thing is she understands you. My son didn’t talk much at all until 2.5 years old. But he understood everything. When he did talk, we couldn’t understand him at all. Now, at 3.5, we understand most of what he’s saying and he never stops talking. I was worried at the delay but our pediatrician said the most important thing is understanding language. The rest is just speech and they can have therapy if absolutely necessary.

My daughter was a late talker, I honestly wasn’t worried though because she grasped other concepts but our doc sent her to a speech therapist who said she was fine and not concerned, she told me toddlers have 5 skills to master (talking, walking, problem solving, fine motor skills, can’t remember the last) and they all learn them in different orders! She recommended we don’t talk to her in full sentences and try one or two words, and pointing to things and saying “ball” or whatever it is, to help encourage, I’m sure you lo will get there! ❤️

I have two kids that are 10 months apart. My oldest was saying about the normal amount when she was 18 months old. But I’ve noticed with her younger sister that she’s saying way over the amount her older sister was saying and I think it’s because she mimicks her older sister and says what she says. Every kid learns at different rates so don’t stress yourself out over it
