Did you rip/get an episiotomy when you gave birth?

For those of you who have given birth before....did you rip? Did you get an episiotomy? I originally thought everyone ripped, but my sister informed me that she didn't rip nor was cut with any of her 8-pound boys! She did nothing to prepare either. I'm just curious as to how many people out there also didn't rip. Also, feel free to comment on your healing process.

I had very minimal tearing, i needed 4 stitches on the inside

I was cut with my first in an area I would expect. I asked a Dr later and they said it was normal if the Dr could tell the baby was gonna have a hard time. I was induced and was in labor for 40 hours. My second child I wasn't cut any further but I ripped a little. I have some scar tissue now. I'm pregnant with baby #3 now, hopefully things go great this time.

I ripped in both deliveries. First time healing was about a month and second time was about 3 weeks, but it didn't bother me as much. I delivered 7.5 lbs and 7.9 lbs babies too.

I had a third degree tear, but I think a big part of that was needing some help after 2 hours pushing... My son was face up and I've heard that makes a difference. But I agreed to using vacuum suction to help get him out because I was exhausted and almost passing out, so I was very thankful for that. I did not feel myself tear, though.
