Leaning towards a birth center!!
My husband and I had a free tour/consultation session with a local birth center and we walked away feeling immensely relieved!!
I current work for a very large hospital system in the Texas Medical Center as a social worker and I also grew up with a mom who is a Labor and Delivery Nurse.
Needless to say, I am terrified of giving birth in a hospital. I'm terrified that I'll be emotionally manipulated into having procedures, tests, etc that I don't want. I see patients get manipulated every day.
Our ideal thought was to birth at home but the center we met with prefers that all first-time moms deliver in the center.
Today was also the first day some asked me "Are you pregnant?" And I was able to reply "YES!!"
I'm so excited for this crazy adventure!!!
