Induced at 37 weeks??

Im due dec 22nd and my doctor said that ill be induced the 2nd and she didnt tell me why. Can they just do that? For no reason?

They can't "just do" anything without your permission regardless of what it is
I'd ask why they want to induce you? Doctors don't normally induce at 37 weeks unless for medical reasons

You have a right to know. Ask her and if you don't agree with her reason then you have every right to say no.

My SIL was induced on her due date all because her Dr was going on vacation. When she was in the hospital she found out a lot of her other patients were being induced the same day. The nurses in the hospital told my SIL not to let her break her water but she did and had my niece, she was healthy and everything went fine. But some doctors do it for no reason.

I would be concerned. Ask why, no need for the baby to come early if not for medical reason. I will be having a scheduled c-section at 39 weeks. This is also my 3rd pregnancy.
