Baby supplies- what can I buy?

Question

First time mom here! I'm a planner and am very money conscious. I am a little over 7 weeks and just purchased my first two packs of diapers. I would like to know from the mommies out there what should I start stocking up on? And what do I hold off on for people to most like buy for shower, gifts, etc?

And is there anything that I should wait to buy because of early expiration, etc?

My personal opinion is I would not get that much in the area of diapers just a little as not all babies can wear all types of diapers. Not all diapers are created equally and in my case my daughter couldn't wear the pricey diapers only the Costco brand would work without breaking her out. 
I know the excitement is there....have indulge but at the end of the day as Moms (yes I'm guilty of it too) buying way more than we need. 
Invest in an Amazon Prime account as the date grows near as once you pick a brand that works you can have you wipes, diapers and formula delivered right to your door.

The most common baby shower gifts are #1 clothes #2 diapers n wipes (which is good cuz you will get many different bands and that will help you figure out wich ones work for you and the baby) #3 toiletries (lotion soap shampoo etc.) #4 burp rags,blankets and bibs. I would say you would be pretty safe buying big ticket items 😊
It's kinda a bummer that we won't be getting a baby shower this time, my youngest is 5 and have zero baby stuff....so as soon as we get that first ultrasound we gonna start buying stuff slowly over next several months

Diapers and wipes for now because they would be ok when you deliver. I would also start looking at cribs and bedding you can buy white sheets. Baby bath items such as baby bath and lotion.
