Will medicade cover elective c-section?

I want a c-section. I’ve made up my mind. I’m 19 y/o with my first. My boyfriend will be over seas and it’s just gonna be me and my mom. I don’t even care if I have to pay out of pocket. I mentally can’t deal with the hours of horrible pain. And the uncertainty of how long it will be. With a c-section I know I’m getting surgery, it can be planed and it only takes a hour or so.

first of all, every birth is different and doesn't necessarily mean hours of pain. 
It's also very unlikely that you'll find a doctor that will give you a C-section just because you want one. They are usually only given when medically necessary. 
There are generally more risks to mother and baby with a c-section. And there's also lots of pain afterwards.

I wouldn’t get a c-section, covered or not.
I’ve had both and the c-section recovery is HORRIBLE.
You won’t even remember the hours of pain. Trust me, go with the natural birth. 
You won’t even be able to take care of yourself or baby after a c-section, so unless you’re planning on your mom completely taking care of you, a c-section is highly unadvisable.

I don’t know about the Medicaid part, but why do you assume you’ll be in hours of pain?
You can get pain meds and an epidural if you want.. just saying the recovery pain from a c-section is going to be a whole lot worse.
My last labor was only 4 hours and majority of that I had an epidural.
But if you’re dead set on a c-section, more power to ya.

If it’s your first it’s very unlikely the dr will approve it unless there is a problem.

You can’t choose a c-section unless you’ve already had a baby and had a c-section with that  one. And you’ll only get it if something is medically wrong that you need it. I much rather deliver vaginally than have a c-section😬

I had an elective c section with my first baby 4 weeks ago. I spent hours researching c sections and read hundreds of posts from people talking about how awful their experience was. I still decided that a c section was the best option for me. I found the whole experience absolutely fine. In fact, I would have another one without question. I felt well prepared and didn’t have any anxiety before the surgery. I was still able to have skin to skin contact and was able to breastfeed my little girl. I was up and walking about after 24 hours and although I was a little sore, I can imagine any birth experience whether c section or vaginal would come with some level of discomfort. I recovered well and was taking nothing but Tylenol by day 3. I do agree that a C section is major abdominal surgery and I don’t think it should be taken lightly, but I also think an elective c section is very different from an emergency one.

I had an epidural with my son and I was not in any pain at all. The epidural itself wasn’t even painful, it just felt strange

I’d definitely take the time to read about c-section recovery and also listen to the mamas on here who have had one. I also don’t think the choice is yours for your first. I had a vaginal birth and yes, the process was painful, but the recovery was okay. I’ve heard c-section recovery is very difficult.

Our hospital absolutely won’t do an elective c section. You will need to find out if it’s actually even an option for you. I had a 4.5 hour labor and delivery with an epidural and only felt about an hour of it because the epidural worked like a charm. Friends who have had c sections dealt with a lot more pain for weeks after I was feeling fine. I really think you need to talk to your doctor about this more.
