Fertility CD3 testing questions

Jenn

Hello ladies,

I am hoping someone on here has experienced something similar to my situation and is able to offer advice.

My husband and I recently had our 3rd missed miscarriage. I passed everything at home with mispostol on Sept 6th 2020. We would of been 9w4days along. During the miscarriage I bled a lot within the first 24 hours then stopped bleeding. For my follow up a few days later doc said I passed the embryo but still had a lot of blood and tissue in my uterus to pass so I had to take a second round of the drug. I did and again, bleed a ton for about 48 hours then the bleeding lighted up and HCG dropped so I got the all clear. M

Because of my miscarriage history we have been sent to a fertility specialist. We had our consultation meeting and they explained all the tests we have to perform to get some answers.

The first set of tests is bloodwork to check E2, AMH, FSH, LH, Estradiol and an ultrasound for follicle count. These have to happen on day 3 of my next cycle.

Since the miscarriage week, I haven’t bleed or spotted at all. My next cycle’s period was expected to arrive Oct 4th 2020. This past Sunday. Around 2pm I began spotting dark brown and on Monday I had very light amounts of fresh red bleeding. Today, Tuesday Oct 6th I haven’t bleed at all but have cramping.

This is NOT normal for me. I have a 28day cycle and always bleed heavy the first 48 hours. I have never had a “light period”.

The doctors nurse said that Sunday doesn’t count because it wasn’t a “full flow” which is when they begin the “day 1” count down to day 3.

Now- my question-

Will I actually get any results if I haven’t really had a “full flow” of what would be a regular period for me? Also, why is my period so light this time around? With my other miscarriages my next cycles period always came back with a vengeance, never a light little drip.

Have any of you ever experienced something similar after a miscarriage? Did any of you go on to have successful CD3 testing even without a real period flow?

I can’t seem to find anything on the internet about this. Everything I find reads that the cycle following a miscarriage is heavier than usual. Never lighter. Only 1 case of lighter and that’s if a d&c was performed and it suggested possible scarring to be the cause but I did not have a d&c so it doesn’t apply.

Any and all insight would be greatly appreciated.

Wishing all of you love and support.
