Something I’ve been thinking about lately is when religious family members, who know you don’t believe in god, ask you to go to church “for them.” A family member of my husband’s has asked this of him a few times and has also included me in the request. I’ve always declined bc honestly I wouldn’t be caught dead in a church again unless it was someone’s wedding or funeral. But it’s like why ask when you know that’s not our beliefs? We don’t ask you to skip church to spend time with us. I would never do that bc I respect this person’s freedom to believe what they want. It just feels disrespectful for them to ask.
