Specific way to lose virginity

I’ve thought about this many times before where people talk about losing their virginity as said to be (boy and girl, p in v) as I came to think about it I don’t agree with it that way exactly. What if someone was lesbian or gay? Would people judge them based on their experience of it not being exactly as said to be? I remember in high school one of my friends would talk about if you have anal sex then you’re still a virgin meanwhile I just looked at her and disagreed with it. I do believe that people can lose their virginity any sexual way that they choose to, either it being oral, vagina, anal, etc.
