I was told by my pediatrician to offer a meal and if my son doesn’t want to eat to not force it but let him know when he gets hungry to offer the same meal. That way he’s not just eating junk/snacks all the time but also not going hungry.

I put no, but there are times i have to. I have a 4 year old that will refuse food all day long because he says its disgusting, so if he hasnt eaten all day by the time dinner comes around, then yes, i make him eat. But thats because he hasnt eaten anything all day long. And i dont make him eat an entire plate of food, even if its just 4 bites, thats fine. I just want him to eat something rather than nothing. Other than that, no, i dont force him to eat.

She eats what she’s given and eats meals when we eat or she doesn’t eat. She’s 5 now but we’ve always done that and she knows those are her two choices.

No. I won’t ever. My mom made me sit at the table in front of my food till bedtime when I didn’t like what she made or I wasn’t hungry or I was full. I won’t do that shit.

My son is an eater. He’s not big on meat but will eat veggies by the plateful. Broccoli is a favorite. Some days he just can’t sit still to eat and wants to play. (He’s 3.) Before bed he’ll get a bowl of fresh fruit cut up and a vitamin so I know he’s not going to bed hungry. I don’t force him and I also don’t force him to eat what he doesn’t like...but I don’t make him something different. He can just eat more of whatever is offered that he does like. He’s not picky at all, though, and eats what we do each night. It’s been that way since he was about 7 months old.
