No nursery after c-section?

Question

I just found out the hospital I'm delivering baby #2 at got rid of their nursery this year. While I'm happy to keep baby when I'm feeling better, I'm nervous about the first (and maybe second) night. Hubby may have to sleep at home to help with toddler. Anyone else keep baby 24/7 after csection?

We just went through this, hubby had to go home with our 3 year old... Thankfully they told me I couldn't have her in the room only for feedings because The first night without him is difficult after a csection (can't get up)was hard and if your hospital got rid of their nursery (which is crazy to me) then you'll just have to keep calling the nurses. Don't try to do everything for yourself. That's what they are there for and you need to heal also, so call for everything and maybe they'll understand why they need a nursery

I kept my son in the room with me at all times after my c-section. Didn't have any issues. Maybe have a mom or friend stay overnight with you if your husband can't stay?! Just incase you need the help? Worst case you can always call a nurse in for assistance changing the baby or helping you get adjusted for feedings, if needed.

With my daughter I let her go to the nursery most of the first night she was brought back for feedings. The reason being I didn't let my first child go in at all excluding when he had to and I was so tired. Following a C I knew I needed to heal. The more run down you are the slower you will heal and the worse off your baby will be when you get home. Plus your milk supply can really tank when tore sleep deprived

I kept my daughter with me constantly because the nurses weren't respecting my decision to only breastfeed and was giving her a bottle. I had to keep her with me so that they didn't do that. The second night, where I was alone for the first time, was horrible. I'm sure a lot had to do with the fact that I wasn't used to having a baby. It was hard. But you can do it!

The only time my baby went to the nursery was to check to see if he had diabetes and to get his first set of shots there, other than that he was by my side for the four days I was in the hospital. I did catch a fever on day two and the nurses kept my LO up front with them instead of putting him in the nursery.

Our daughter never left our sides, from the moment she came out of me to the moment we left the hospital 4 days/3 nights later, she was in one of our arms. Our hospitals don't take the baby to the nursery unless requested. They are called family-centered hospitals. We loved it because it was exactly how it was going to be at home.

I had my mom stay first night while hubs went home to be with our dog (he'd been alone 2 nights at that point while I labored before an emergency csec). Then hubs was there 2nd night. Third night we actually called the nurses so we could sleep between feelings. The hospital had a nursery if needed but otherwise baby was in room with parents. Patients took advantage of the nursery differently,some minimally and others a lot!

Both my csection I had my babies with me the whole time and hubby never spent the night since they aren't allowed to and it will be the same with the next

I had my son all the time except for mornings weight check. My husband was there but didn't wake up to baby. If you need help that's what the nurses are for
