People on here are not open minded. Go for it girl! It's better for baby.

I plan to do both.. I wish people would educate themselves on it. Instead of going with mainstream bias thinking. Some of the healthiest people in the world have been doing this for centuries. Live well into their hundreds and have minimal diseases compared to the western world

it is when you don't cut the umbilical cord and leave it attached to the placenta until it naturally dries off and falls off the baby

A lotus birth seems like it would be completely pointless. Delayed cord clamping/cutting can be very beneficial though! once that umbilical stops pulsing there isn't any circulation or blood flow from placenta to baby so there is no overly good reason to keep a rotting hunk of flesh attached to your poor child for a week or more just because a chimpanzee might do it. Chimpanzees also cuff or hit their babies when they misbehave as do almost all other mammals but I don't see many people advocating for that style of parenting even though it's quite obvious in nature.

people actually eat their placenta too.. apparently it helps with milk supply and ppd as well as helps balance your hormones back to normal and promotes blood clotting to prevent hemorrhaging.
