Buying a Fetal Doppler?

Question

I’m debating on buying a fetal Doppler would you recommend it or not? I’m not sure if it would help ease my mind or stress me out more.￼

I bought one but used it now and then. If your anxious and worried I recommend you don’t get one as means you’ll constantly check on it and say you don’t hear the heartbeat which does happen then you’ll panic. I didn’t feel it was a good purchase for myself because of this. I’d rather leave it to the professionals and know from then. Everyone had their own opinion on this but that’s my thoughts after going down that road

i has one for my all my pregnancies i like hearing the hb at hm with my husband  and just checking in them now and then and you could bring up and concerns  with her if ever any ,after a reading or sounds that concern you

No. My OB said it can be hard to find the heart beat if you don't know what you're doing and they tend to cause more stress than reassurance. Plenty of people buy them though and have success. I didn't want to worry myself constantly

I was too afraid to get one. But a friend of mine got one for his girlfriend who gave birth in July, I think I’ll ask to borrow it when I’m ready to announce! 🤣

I didn’t buy one. When I went to the doctor, they would use the Doppler on me. Early on, they warned me that it’s hard to find the heartbeat and to be honest, I couldn’t tell the difference between mine and babies. I felt like if I found anything it would give me a false sense of security and if I didn’t find anything I would be in a blind panic so I’d rather leave it to the professionals.

Here’s my personal opinion. I have one and I love it. I 100% understand that hearing the heartbeat doesn’t mean she’s healthy. However, it gives me peace of mind hearing her in between appointments. My only ultrasound was 8w dating scan and anatomy scan at 18.5 (still 3 weeks away). Otherwise they just use a Doppler. I’m also early enough that if I didn’t hear her heartbeat or thought I did and was wrong going to the doctor wouldn’t change anything as I haven’t reached the age of viability where she could survive in a NICU. I would see my doctor if I was having a genuine concern for myself or daughter (before anyone tries to attack me for saying my previous statement). I will be putting it away once I can feel her move on a consistent basis. I guess all I’m trying to say is do what you feel is best!

That’s a tough one because it honestly depends on the person. It can definitely worry you more because if you can’t find the HB you could freak out and think something is wrong. The reality is just that it can be difficult to find the HB especially early on. If you are one to get yourself worked up easily it may not be the best option for you. But I personally liked having one. I used it just about every other day. It took me some time to get the hang of it and if I couldn’t find it after about 10 minutes of trying I just stopped and tried again later. There is definitely pros and cons to it. You have to determine whether you think it would be helpful or you or more disastrous
