Iud string longer?

So I checked my iud string before my period and it was short now that I’m on my period and heavy bleeding the string is hanging out my vag 😕😧 ive been in so much pain !!😵. anyone Else iud strings longer with period???!

Wait what? The string is hanging out of your vaginal opening? I would call and set up an appointment with my gyno if I were you. 
Because here’s the thing your cervix changes positions throughout your cycle so it makes sense that sometimes you’ll feel more of the string, the IUD stays where it is but your cervix moves up and down so sometimes it will be exposing more of the string and sometimes you’ll feel less of the string. 
HOWEVER, my strings have never come out of my vaginal opening. Unless your strings were left really REALLY long. Either way, definitely see a gynecologist and make sure that it’s not trying to fall out

Your cervix changes positions throughout your cycle. But if the strings are that long and you're bleeding heavy, it may be expelling. My first one did and the bleeding was insane. If your not squeamish use your finger to feel for your cervix. If you feel anything hard definitely get it checked as it's the base of the iud, and you shouldn't be able to feel it.
If the iud isnt expelling, I would definitely go back to have the strings trimmed some.
