Am I wrong? Am I overreacting?

Question

My boyfriend has been gone for WEEKS. He is only back in the city for a couple of hours. He drove here. We were suppose to see each other at 7AM only for a couple of minutes. He didn't contact me until 8:30 am to tell me he popped a tire and didn't know when he was going to get it fixed because tire places didn't open early. It sounds a bit crazy but I searched his area and every single tire shop was open. I asked him what time are we going to see each other then so I can be ready. He responded "ill let you know." 4 hours have passed and still have not heard from him. I can assure you he went to visit his friends and went to his local hang out spots (restaurant/bar.) They live around that area and before he had a habit of putting those exact friends before me. It bothers me. He expects me to believe his lies? Everybody else is more important than me? He can dedicate them hours and me just a couple of minutes? He expects me to sit around all day until I get a phone call from him telling me to come outside for a couple of minutes. I have this big issue where even though I am in a relationship with him I feel ALONE. What's the point being in a relationship with somebody who makes me feel alone?

Regardless of this situation, it sounds like a “last straw” type of thing and that you’re overall unhappy with the relationship. I would let him go if you’re as unhappy as you seem

Let’s normalize not calling girls crazy because they’re upset. Or saying girls just overreact because you didn’t provide a 5 page essay in MLA format with references with proof that he hung out with his friends instead of you, Anyways, you have a right to be upset. You are not spending your time waiting around when he can’t give you the time of day. If someone wants to see you, they make it work. My husband would take a plane, train, taxi, Uber, bus or walk 5 hours to see me. My long term ex boyfriend would’ve made me wait with nothing but excuses. People will make time and make it work if they truly want to. You deserve someone that puts in the same amount of effort. 💞

I think that last question you asked is pretty important. It sounds like this is a much bigger situation than today. I would be very angry if my partner lied to me. I value honesty so so much. But I'd also feel frustrated by that lack of communication. Not only is he not delivering what he agreed to do, he's having you sit around waiting... MF wasting your time. That's not very respectful.

The issue is a lot bigger than what happened today. There’s no solid proof, and you’re not able to verify the story, but the fact that he’s done this in the past, has lied to you, and given you reasons to doubt him/not trust him, is enough to say there isn’t much of a relationship left here and I’d agree that you’re pretty much alone in this relationship. Lying isn’t respectful and trust is necessary in a healthy relationship, not to mention prioritizing the ones you love and he doesn’t do that.
