Anyone take Wellbutrin for PPD?

I am 1 week postpartum and I scheduled myself to be seen today. Been having symptoms of PPD and really struggling. After going over medication options, my doctor decided Wellbutrin would fit me best. Just wondering if anyone took this and did it help you? Starting at the lowest dose and apparently it takes 4-6 weeks to see a difference, which is pretty scary. Doctor also prescribed me an "as needed" called Hydroxyzine. She said I don't need to take it unless I'm really struggling and the Wellbutrin hasn't kicked in full effect yet. Any info on that medication is welcome too. Thank you and good luck to all the postpartum moms.

I've taken hydroxyzine before and you have to be very careful when you take it. It'll help stop a panic attack, but it'll also knock you out. My doctor prescribed it to me each night as a sleep aid and to use as needed for panic attacks(I had just left my abusive partner of 8 years and he was stalking me ☹️), and I had an emergency once where I had to drive after I had already taken it and almost fell asleep and crashed (I didn't realize it made me so drowsy because I always took it before bed🤷‍♀️). So, I stopped taking it after that and only used it once more for a panic attack because I hated how sleepy it made me. I felt like a heroine addict nodding off to sleep while sitting up. So, please be careful. Make sure if you take it that you have someone who can help you with your baby, and especially don't bed share while taking it. As for Wellbutrin, I haven't used it myself, but my step mom has used it for a decade now. She says it's the absolute best med she's used for depression, but it kills her sex drive. I've also heard it can cause weight loss, so make sure you eat enough to stay at a healthy weight ❤️ I'm so glad you reached out and you're getting some help. I’m on Zoloft hydroxyzine and Wellbutrin. Dr started me on Zoloft and hydroxyzine to take at night because my anxiety would cause racing thoughts making me not be able to sleep. The Zoloft helped but made me sooooo tired. If I sat for more than five minutes I’d be knocked out. So he added Wellbutrin to take in the morning. I don’t really have any other side effects and definitely see me as my old self again

I don’t use Wellbutrin for PPD but I like it, never had an issue.
Hydroxyzine is great for chilling me out, but it also knocks me the f out for like 24 hours. I’m prescribed 25mg as needed but I split the pill and only take 1 half so I can function the next day. My sister is prescribed like 400mg daily and she says it doesn’t make her the least bit sleepy but still helps her anxiety/mood.
