What to expect after removing IUD?

I am going to call my doctor and ask them to remove my Mirena IUD soon. I had it inserted 2-3 months after my first baby was born, which means I have had it in for slightly over a year.

I've read about women experiencing a crash in hormones after having it taken out. That they experience a hormonal imbalance for anywhere from a few days to a few months. Did anyone experience this? Im also considering trying for another baby within the next year and I'm wondering how long after having a IUD removed were women able to conceive again?

I sort of wish I had never had the IUD put in. While it was nice to not have a period for a while, I have a lot of other symptoms that Im not sure were postpartum or actually just the IUD, and now I also worry about how screwed up my hormones will be getting off it.
