How did you meet your partner?

I just split from a guy I was madly in love with, but it wasn’t reciprocated at all and he treated me very poorly. It has left my spirit crushed and it just feels i’ll never meet my guy. I turn 26 next week and my family make it seem I should have that and a baby by now, random people ask my age and immediately ask me if I have kids and when I no, they shame me a little. Just feels it will never happen for. I want to hear some stories of how you ladies met your person.

He was my brothers best friend lol, my brother would tell him about the guy I was dating and how shitty our relationship was and eventually his friend started messaging me on Facebook just to chat mostly about work and eventually I caught feelings and left my ex. We have been together 3 years now 😊

You are so young! My boyfriend is actually my best friend’s little brother. I’ve known him since he was little which is kind of weird. 😂 But let me just say, never in a million years did I think we would end up together. We got together when I was 27 and a freshly divorced single mom with two kids. He is two years younger than me with no kids and stupidly attractive. I never in my life thought he would be into me as anything more than a quick fuck. We have been together 3 years now and every day is better than the last. You will find your person when you are LEAST expecting it!!

My husband is the older brother of my best friend i met in the 8th grade. I was in a long term relationship all through high school so we never dated but I always found him cute and funny. My long term relationship was becoming shitty so I broke it off and we ended up dating. We have been together for 4 years now and have 1 beautiful boy together. I accidentally became pregnant after 3 months of dating him but I’ve known him since I was 14 so it all worked out perfectly and we couldn’t be happier.

I was working at a restaurant in 2017 that had an open mic night every Thursday. I usually changed clothes and got a beer and hung out on those nights cause I was friends with a lot of the people that played there. On our very last open mic I parked and saw this really buff dude smoking a cigarette on the patio where open mic was being set up and he was talking to the guy who ran the open mic (a friend of mine) and one of the regulars (another friend of mine....we’ll call him Greg) and my first thought was “oo Greg brought a cute friend.” So I went inside to grab a drink and when I got out to the patio to wait on my best friend to show up the guy that Greg had brought sat down next to me a started talking to me. All I could do was stare at his hands they were so gorgeous 😂 He had apparently ridden with Greg but also originally hadn’t wanted to stay (he hates social events lol) so he had texted one of his friends to come hang out for a bit before they went back to his place to chill for the rest of the night. When his friend got there though he told him plans changed and he ended up talking to me all night and followed my friend and I to a different bar when we left. We’ve been happily ever after since and our daughter is sleeping on my chest right now 💜❤️

Let me just start by saying that I got pregnant at 16 and had my daughter at 17. People, especially my family, act like I should'nt have any more kids because of it so don't let ANYONE make you feel bad about when or if you have kids. There's no way to please everyone so just be happy with yourself.
Anyway, on Halloween 2018 I took my daughter trick or treating and we ended up at one of my coworker's house, we all jokingly called her Mom at work, even our assistant manager. We ended up staying there for a few hours. While we were there, her son that was living with her at the time came home from work, looked at me, then told his mom he was going to bed. We went home when her oldest son brought his family over. The next morning my coworker comes in and tells me that her son told her that morning that he thought I was attractive. Now, I had been in a relationship for a couple months at this point and his mom obviously told him that. Fast forward to the end of November 2018, by boyfriend dumped me and I told my coworkers because they had all liked him and thought he was a good one. My coworker that we call Mom came over to my house and took my daughter and I to breakfast just to make sure that I was ok. When my daughter saw her that morning she called her Grandma and my coworker told her that she would be her Grandma if she wanted her to. A few days later my coworker's son sent me a friend request on Facebook after his mom told him that I was single. A few days later he asked me about my friend's band as he liked one of their songs that I shared. We started talking in December and then started dating in January. We had been told in December that our place of work would be closing in March and all of our hours were cut, because of that I lost my house that I had been renting in February so my coworker told us we could move in if it was ok with her son. He was fine with it so we moved in the middle of February. On August 1, 2019 he asked me to marry him. On November 1, 2019 we got married. Now almost a year later, I can say that it was all worth it. My husband came at the end of years of bad relationships and losing myself. He is and has been everything that I was looking for. He makes loving me look easy where others made me feel like a burden. Best of all, he loves my daughter like his own. I never thought that there was going to be a man that would love my daughter as much as he does but he loves her so much that there are days that the both of us genuinely forget that he isn't her biological father and that he hasn't been there from day 1. It may seem fast for a lot of people, but it felt natural and right for us.
