Hey ladies

I just had my baby last week and he was doing great as far as his sleep schedule up until yesterday. My family came to visit and they held him all day long. Normally we will put him down for naps but he slept on everyone allll day long. Now it’s 5:25 and he’s been up since 3:30 bawling nonstop because I won’t pick him up. I fed him, burped him, changed him, swaddled him and rocked him to sleep. As soon as I put him in his bassinet he started crying as soon as I pick him up he stops. His dad said to just put him down and let him cry and he still hasn’t stopped. What should I do? I’m at a loss for words and I’m ready to just go pick him up, but I want him to be able to sleep w/o being held
