You have a wound in your uterus that is about8.5 inches. That’s huge. Not to mention the stirches in your vagina. Do not have sex until after your 6 week appointment or you could end up with a horrible life threatening infection.

Wait at least 6 weeks or until your doctor approves. The problem is your cervix is still open and your uterus would still have open capillaries from the placenta detaching. If you have sex before then you could trap air in your uterus which could go into one of these open capillaries causing a stroke from air getting into your blood stream.

Do they not tell everyone after they give birth to wait for their 6 week check up? I was very much a single mom when I gave birth and they still told me absolutely no sex till I get cleared at the 6 week checkup.

I had a second degree tear I believe it was 9 weeks but I waited 90 days I’m sure Instead of 9 weeks I heard 90 days because that’s what my mind wanted to hear I was terrified to have sex especially after a year 😅
