TTC Ovulation Test

So my husband an I have been trying for about a year now off and on. We are to see a doctor starting in January if we don't get pregnant before then. I had found out I was pregnant back in April and miscarried 2 days later. We started last month using ovulation test and pre seed lubrication. But just curious as to what ovulation test are the best. I was using digital and it seem to read that I was ovulating everytime I tested which I know isn't right. Right now I'm a day late and getting a negative PT.
