Bullied because of name!?

Well me and my husband are having a girl, we made a deal that I'll choose boy names and hr choose the girl name, so he decides to call her Zelda Amidala in honor of Legend of Zelda and Star Wars. I love the names but my family refuse to like the name, they said they will never call her like that because we live In Puerto Rico and people will think they are calling her pig. I'm so upset and my husband refuse to choose another name

It's your baby. Not everyone is going to like the name you chose, period. Regardless of what the name is. But when your baby arrives they're going to love her regardless. Just tell them to decide on a nick name then if it's that crucial.

At first I had the same thought process, naming it after a game I love or story. Absolutely love legend of zelda (I have triforce tattoo on my wrist) but, I also thought, those are my interests, not my daughter's. I didn't wanna take the chance.
As for being made fun of, kids & people will always find a reason or way to make fun of anyone.

I was born in Puerto Rico and my mom was going to name me Penelope but changed her mind because people were going to call me "Pene" for short, which means penis. I cannot thank her enough for changing her mind.

Honestly? My family hates the name I am naming my daughter. I'm naming her Dixie Lynn Grace. 
I have had my side of the family tell me that they refuse to call her Dixie and they'll call her by her middle names if necessary- and it still hasn't changed my mind one bit about what I want to name her.

Well, pick a nickname like Ami, Zelly, or Dalla. Something they're willing to call her. But at the end of the day, she's your baby, so whatever name you chose is up to you guys, not them. They'll warm up to it. They won't even care once she's born and they see her.
