Is this my period returning?

Hi all, I’m around 11-12 weeks post-partum and i think i may have started my period. I’m just worried as although it is light, the bleeding is bright red and i dont have much “period cramping”. Just worried this is not a period. What colour was your first period postpartum? My periods from what I remember were more dark red. I’m not passing clots or anything like that. Many thanks

I started mine on Thursday, it started as only a few drops of dark brown blood, and has slowly increased. It is still dark brown, almost black even and it's nothing like how my periods used to be.

With my first I had more bright red periods than I did before kids. Your periods postpartum can be more painful and heavier than before kids. I was lucky though and didn’t have horrible cramps like they say would happen. 
Definitely just keep an eye on it but I wouldn’t be concerned yet and just assume it’s your period. It can also take time to regulate so your first one may be funky from the get go.
