What will you do if you test positve for Covid?

My hospital is only testing moms before delivery. If I test positive but an asymptomatic they said it’s up to me but they would still put baby in the room with me where I should just wear a mask. Or I can choose to separate and put the baby in the nursery. Of course it’s scary if you test positive but the thought of separating is heartbreaking. Anyone know anyone who had this choice? Trying to have a plan but hoping for the best!

I would never have my baby taken away from me! That bonding is super important to both newborn and mom. Also haven’t studies shown that moms with covid have antibodies in their breastmilk? So the best is to have baby with you and breastfeed.

I have the same rules at my hospital and if I test positive for covid I will absolutely keep baby in the room with me! I plan on nursing this baby like I have all of my three babies before. They have precautions set up for the baby as far as keeping baby 6 ft away if you're not nursing and baby is sleeping and doing skin to skin with a mask on and also they can pull a drape, ect. ect. when baby is sleeping which is 98% of a newborns time spent anyway. 
My hospital only holds us for 24 hours, So what would I do anyway? Go home and quarantine for 14 days away from my newborn infant who is breastfeeding? 
That's my baby, my 4th & last and she's not leaving the room!! ❤️

I would have the baby with me with all the cautions. The things they've done on the 1st months of covid like separating moms and not letting them BF the baby was the worse...

I will flip my shit if anyone takes my baby out of my sight after birth. I never knew this before my first, but I was absolutely panicked at the thought of him leaving my line of sight. My entire hospital stay he stayed with me and I dont plan on that being any different even with covid.

I would keep my baby with me. Haven’t personally experienced this, but I don’t see the need to separate when (as long as baby is healthy) they will be going home with you in a few days anyway.
