Double stroller?

Question

I'm due in Feb and will have a 21 month old aswell. I'm really petite and don't want to be pushing a double stroller. We also just got our travel system for our first less than 2 yrs ago which was expensive ofc. 
People keep asking me if I'm going to get a double stroller... I was planning on wearing the newborn and pushing my toddler until my toddler is old enough to walk/sit on a board thing that attaches to the pram. Am I being really naiive??

We wouldn't function without a double stroller. But we walk pretty much everywhere, and my youngest wasn't particularly fan of being in his carrier. He was also born in November so it was easier to dress accordingly to the weather with him being in the bassinet of the stroller.

Mine are 18.5m apart, oldest just turned 2 and we use the double stroller all the time. My friend's kids are nearly 2.5 and just turned 1 and they also use it all the time. Even when your oldest can walk well, they still get tired. My son normally walks to the park but about 50% off the time he asks to get on the stroller to go back. Meanwhile it's nice to have a place the baby can go while we play

I think it depends on your lifestyle & what you use your stroller for. We get out and walk a few miles most days, I 100% wanted a good double stroller even though my oldest will be 3 when baby is born. If it was just for the occasional family outing, I’m sure you’ll be fine, but I’d just really think about when you use your stroller

I was able to find a double stroller that can be used with a toddler and an infant car seat but also as the baby gets older my toddler can still sit or stand on the back. It was used from an online yard sale thing that was much cheaper than buying it new. I know we’ll use it because we walk a lot. But I’m keeping my single strollers too because I’m sure we’ll use those still too.

Not naive at all? I'm planning to do the same thing, carry newborn and use stroller for toddler when it's a longer outing. Then when baby sizes out of the carrier I'm thinking I'll go with a baby wagon rather than a double stroller.

I’m holding out as long as possible on the double. I also think we will carry the newborn and my guy will ride in the stroller. I barely used the stroller with my guy when he was little unless I was attaching the car seat to it. And this was only really when we popped into the store (which I probably won’t be doing much of with Covid). I’m hoping to make it to when the baby is 6 months and then re-evaluating. Also, at that point I can pick any double and not have to worry about attaching the car seat to it.

No! Mine were two years apart. The double stroller only fit in my car if i out the third row down, nothing else would fit in the back after that. 90% of the time we went places that had carts and I’d put the infant car seat in the cart and my toddler in the front seat thing on the cart. Grocery shopping, i just did grocery pick up   I then sold mine for dirt cheap because i wanted that heavy thing gone!
