How do I ween my breasts 3 days post partum ?

My milk just came in. I just came home from hospital. The whole time I was there we tried everything to get her to latch and she was losing weight.. for my mental health and her health I decided to formula feed.. now that my milk is in I thought I would try again and it’s just not working. My breasts are giant.. and they said she has to work extra hard and it’s just hard positioning them and her. They were HH while pregnant.. idek what they are now. I have a very small frame and it’s just a lot.. I’ve cried A LOTTTTT.. so please no judgement.. I hate this but it is what it is. Now I need to figure out how to ween my breasts.. I just pumped a little on each side to relieve them but I don’t know what to do or where to begin to dry up my milk without getting engorged.. please help me. I tore in 3 places and I am just in so much pain and I just need help.. I have the baby blues bad and I just want to dry up my breasts and heal so I can bond with baby better.

Red cabbage is what I’ve heard! Also, pumping is just signaling ur body to produce more so if u need relieve I’d hand express and avoid pumping at all costs.  Don’t feel the need to explain your decision, you are feeding your baby and that’s what’s important.

I’d say express in a hot shower for relief but try not to pump - milk is created by supply and demand so the more you pump, the more your body will make. 
Google cabbage leafs on breasts - I think they should help with discomfort.
Also Google anti-histamines to stop milk production? I’m not at all sure if this is medically advisable so plz seek clarification from a medical professional before trying it but antihistamines will stop milk production.

😭 That sounds so rough! Makes my heart break for you! Don’t let anyone judge you for making choices that are supposed to be helpful for you and your baby. 
I had to make a choice like this as well with my first one. There was NO SUPPORT! The best support and advice I got was my mom’s advice. She said to get sage herbal tea and drink as much as I could. I had HORRIBLE infection and was so engorged my doctor was SHOCKED and was worried we might have to do a surgery. The sage tea was AMAZING! You can put anything you want in it like sugar or honey or other sweetener and it won’t change the effectiveness.

It sucks. It really does. I just bought some good pads and pushed through for a few days got lots of rest quit pumping completely and the engorging and leaking goes away within a week or so. It’s hot, it’s itchy, it’s uncomfortable, and frustrating but it will pass.

This happened to me aswell. Wear a tight sports bra and use cold packs to help relieve them. It took about 3-4- days for the pain to go away. Take advil and Tylenol aswell.

As weird as this is, cabbage leaves. Put them in freezer for extra relief. Leave them until they get soggy and replace with new. This is how I dried mine up. Worked like a charm

I put bag of frozen veggies towards the top (by my collarbones) and let them sit there for awhile. I took my higher dose of Advil I got from the hospital. 
The engorgement lasted about 36 hours and it was AWFUL. 
My doctor did stress not to express or pump, that your breasts will just continue to supply. 
Unfortunately, I just had to deal with it and let it pass. It was horrible. I’m sorry you are dealing with this I’ve been there!!

Ask your doctor for a prescription, there are several birth controls which cause milk production to slow drastically.
