Front Teeth with Stage 4 Lip Tie?

jacqui

I was just curious if any mommas on here have picture of their babies front teeth either with OT without a stage 4 lip tie correction?

No doctor every checked for ties and my daughter was gaining weight well so we never pushed anyone to check it. Two weeks ago, my husband was sending me a photo of her top gums as her teeth look like they’re ready to cut but he asked if her ridge in the middle was normal. After some google searching, we deduced it was a lip tie and started calling around to find out who would be best to diagnose and treat it. We are trying to find a new family doctor as they have been less than helpful with medical issues and recently missed a complete tear of my ACL so I have very little faith in them. We found a lactation specialist who looked and called it a juicy stage 3. Said we could try cutting it now or wait for all her baby teeth to get in. We choose to do it now and hope to avoid any need for expensive corrective procedures down the road. The doctor doing the procedure said it’s definitely a stage 4 and they can’t remove the tissue that wraps under the gums (can be done at the dentist later if it’s an issue) but I was wondering if anyone has any pictures of baby’s front teeth that have had/still have a stage 4 lip tie.

Also, post is a slight vent as I’m upset with myself and my doctors for not catching it sooner. I was ready to give up if another person told me that gapped front teeth can be beautiful and gave Madonna as an example. Our concern wasn’t esthetics as much as possible dental work down the road or issues with speech but they just dismissed them when we brought them up.

You can see it pretty well in these photos from when she was 3 weeks old. Figured if the doctors weren’t concerned at this point, no alarm bells went off in my head.

The screenshot a couple weeks ago that put us into action.
