Would a BB gun be good for protection use only?

I don’t know much about guns but I’m pretty sure BB guns arent actual bullets. I can’t ever see myself killing someone so I like the thought of the “fake bullets”. It’ll also be my first gun and I’m going to live on my own

No, you’d be better off with mace. You can get rubber bullets/bean bag bullets for a shotgun- very unlikely to kill, but would definitely scare/hurt the person- plus most people (who aren’t crazed/drugged) will see a shotgun and run/not bother.

A BB gun will NOT protect you. A BB gun is just that, it’s shots little BBs. Not fake bullets, real, small, circle BBs. Not much your going do with it besides poke someone’s eye out. Why dont you try a pepper spray or a taser, it would be better than a BB gun. Otherwise you could purchase a 22 hand gun, it’s a small caliber but can still kill.

I mean... maybe? If you had an intruder it might hurt enough to scare them away but this would not be realistic if said intruder had their own (actual) gun. 
Honestly get some high grade pepper spray or a taser if you don’t want a gun. If you can immobilize an attacker, you’ll be safer than trying to shoot them with a BB gun.

I have mace I’m also gonna get a taser don’t get a BB gun people will assume it’s real (which I get thats kinda the point) but you can get in serious trouble. I had a friend who carried one and almost got arrested. She was in her 60s😂 I love her
