Do/would you?

I'm 37 weeks and was a cm dilated last dr visit, since then I have lost my plug and have been having contractions and a "stabbing" feeling down there. My question is, do you or ur SO ever check your cervix?

No! For one you really don't know what you're feeling for and it can def introduce bacteria, etc into an environment that should be staying pretty clean with impending labor... I'm a nurse, but not an OB nurse, and there's no way I'd try to check my own cervix. Plus everyone is going to measure a little differently when they check because everyone's fingers are different sizes, so I'd totally leave that up to someone with more experience in that field of practice.

No, what's the point? And if you're dilated a lot, what's that going to do for you.?

I'm to scared to try and check it myself. And in the past when I'd feel up there before I got pregnant my cervix has been high. And even when they check me now they have to shove a hand up it feels like.

I'm pretty sure my husband told me once that his "cervix" hurt (trying to sound intellectual 😂). He can't be trusted. Ever. Never. Lol I barely want my doc to do it 🙈
