Who did Cain marry?

Question

After Cain killed his brother, he left. At the time, Adam and eve only had the two children (down to one after he was murdered). But the scriptures talk about Cain going elsewhere and marrying a woman. It seemed like she was part of a village. So who were they?

I'd like to know Christians standpoint on this. From my belief, the other deities created other people - and I don't mean created suddenly like Adam and eve. I mean they'd been on earth for hundreds and hundreds of years, evolving (with the deities help). So when the bible talks about how Adam and eve were the first man and woman, I take it as meaning they were the first man and woman that Elohim (the Christian god) created.

My belief is that it was a daughter or granddaughter of Adam and Eve. I find it gross but unless you believe in other gods, who was there? And I only believe in the existence of one God.

Adam and eve had way more children than 2! Cain, Abel, and Seth at the time your talking about! After Seth was born, adam lived for another 800 years! So there is no telling how old Adam was when he bore Cain! I believe God created many different ethnic groups in that time that lived in eden with them! Although eden was huge! It is said in Genesis that Cain went off from his father to the land of Nod (eastern eden) and married and bore a son E'noch. Then Cain built a city on this land and named it after his son, naming the city E'noch! 
But this is just what I believe the bible says! 1 passage can be looked at 100 different ways and have 100 different opinions! This ones just my opinion!

The Bible doesn’t state how many children Adam and Eve had in total. It only names three - Cain, Able, and Seth. The reality is, Cain probably married his sister or niece, they all probably did. They were the only people around! 
The prohibition against marrying a family member didn’t appear in scripture until the Books of Moses. For example, Sarah was Abraham’s half sister.

Great question, Bloomy! It's pretty mysterious. The first chapter of Genesis accounts for humanity, male and female, in unknown quantity - however, that creation narrative is much "younger" (more recent, as ancient stories go) than the Adam and Eve narrative that follows it.

The Bible itself does not account for the origins of the other people Cain encounters when he leaves his family. There are a variety of speculations from Jewish and Christian scholars and theologians, but I think anyone's guess is welcome to the playing field. ;)
