Do you randomly call your bonus/step babies on their (other) parents phone to check on them?

My husband thinks I should call to check on our 7 yo daughter more.. even though she spends weekends with us. I don’t feel like I need to call her moms phone throughout the week if he is checking in on her! Also, I talk to her when he does. Am I wrong???

I guess it depends on your relationship with your stepchilds mom, if it's bad and she doesn't like you, then I wouldn't want to be calling and creating more problems but if you're fine with her, then a few minutes maybe mid week wouldn't be hard and it may be nice for your stepchild that YOURE reaching out on your own to check up on her and that shes on your mind. I text my stepsons mom pretty much everyday to see how my stepsons doing, sometimes I'll call or even facetime  if there not busy. I always reach out and I'll send funny memes or animal videos that I think my stepson would enjoy or his mom can relate to being a mom wise. I like to make it feel like one big family rather than having everything separate because ultimately its what's best for everyone especially my stepson.

I would. More than likely the mom and I would be cool.
I would want this if a woman was coming into this family and would be around my children. As long as the respect is there and she doesn’t overstep then we all good.

My stepmom did but only to be a bitch and ask me for money because my dad didn’t want to give her more. I think texting is fine but why are you calling..?
 Seems annoying that mom is trying to have bonding time ansnyoure getting in the way of that on her time with the kid.
