When do you stop taking folic acid

You’re supposed to take a prenatal vitamin with folic acid through the entire pregnancy. Honestly I always take prenatals pregnant or not bc my Obgyn requests all her sexually active patients do so if there’s ever an oops it’s been getting that folic acid the entire time. Those vitamins aren’t going to hurt anything by taking them any other time. It’s a multivitamin.

You don’t stop during pregnancy, need to take it throughout and postpartum if you are breastfeeding/pumping.
