Talent vs Hardwork - why do you think some people are naturally talented?

With internet we were able to see talents coming out and people - mostly children - doing amazing things no one ever taught them. Those are outliers yes, but they're still doing things that takes years and years of training for the vast average be able to do. 
Q: Where do you think this comes from? Genes, nurture, spirituality? Why some people are able to come with this sort of ability out of no where? 
What inspired me to do this post was Amira Willinghagen - a Dutch girl who won the Holland's Got Talent at the age of 9 in 2013, singing opera. According to the girl, she wanted to do something pretty for a school festival and found some opera singers videos on youtube. And Amira started to imitate them. She never did any singing class prior to this.
 During her presentation, one of the judges say she's an "old soul", Mariah Callas herself based on her interpretation and voice.

Based in genetics & passed down traits from ancestors and then tapped into by nurturance.  
I think when we look at it scientifically, the notion of “past lives” becomes not so crazy.  
I know I’ve posted about the studies with mice, but it’s a just one of so many that show this, if mouse mom learns a maze, has a baby, that mouse baby can instinctively complete it, vs mouse whose mom did not learn maze, her baby cannot complete it without the learning process.

It’s a blend, in my opinion. I come by wind instruments naturally, but my drive to play them isn’t high. I enjoy it, but it isn’t something I’m that passionate about. I love music, but I prefer to listen. 
My husband looooves to sing, but he’s tone deaf. He lacks the ability to hear his own voice. 
Side note for Sagittarius season: The brain is pretty wild. Youth can learn amazingly well if given the opportunity. In the teen years, there is a lot of synaptic pruning, so what once was natural talent can erode away. Jill Bolte Taylor has a great Ted Talk on it.

I think everyone has skills in different areas, and it’s important to understand how to utilize them appropriately so as not to overwork/ burn out/ force something when someone shows a proclivity. With the children who sing opera, it’s damaging to their voice because it is manipulated sound usually depressing the larynx, which is harmful to the natural voice, so her parents would give her a longer adult career if they held off and had her sing more age appropriate things. Usually when these children go through puberty their voice starts to suffer from having been pushed and strained in pre pubescence. 
I think it’s a combination of talent and exploitation. There are toddlers who are scarily amazing at the violin or piano, but I think it’s important not to make that their only identity, and to help them be well rounded while they are still young. Often child geniuses suffer with longevity. And as adults they aren’t necessarily better than other adults who weren’t geniuses as children. 
I think tons of children are incredibly wise in many different ways, wise beyond what we would expect. It’s a careful tightrope balance of nurturing that talent (playing music with them, or going in the direction of their passion) and also heeding care to their successive adult years. Of trying not to give them the identity of ‘child who is better than every other child at this one thing’, so they don’t become lost in adulthood when they are no longer better than every other adult.

I think it could go either way. Someone without natural talent who begins training at a young age and practices could still become accomplished. 
And some people are just naturally gifted and can be really accomplished at something naturally and easily. 
I have a friend who is an amazing songwriter and guitar player. I met him when he was 18 and just recently found out he only started playing guitar when he was 17. He blew my mind with his talent even back then and had only been playing a year. He's also so passionate about music that he puts a ton of practice and work into it. But it definitely comes more naturally to him than most

In some cases talents can be linked to physical traits and genetics, however I personally feel like it is mostly access to experience and encouragement to show talents.
For example, Michael Phelps (Olympic Swimmer) actually has an extended arm and torso length that make his body ideal for swimming as a sport, but it’s not like his pediatrician measured him as a child and said ‘he meets all criteria for a high performance swimmer’... he had to be given the opportunity to discover this. 
Same thing goes for artists and musicians. I went to art school with some incredibly talented people who could just look at a scene and translate proportions onto a page with amazing realism. Without being in an environment to encourage art, they may have repurposed the same skill for something their parents deemed more practical. I personally have always been able to create a custom clothing pattern by looking at curves and shapes and visually measured patterns (then checked against actual measurements), but if my parents were against me going into the arts I may have ended up with a more approachable career like architecture or interior design.. I’m not personally claiming to be ‘super talented’, I am just saying I think most people harbor unfostered talents
