Is this normal?

Im sorry if this is stupid, I’m still a virgin but I’ve tried inserting a finger before, there’s something hard right when I enter and I can go under it and then it’s soft. 
I’ve read before that the inside of the vagina feels like the inside of the cheek which I do feel, my question is if the hard part I feel in the beginning is normal or not.

Probably your hymen. I don’t know what happened to mine because I never felt that when I started feeling around at 13/14. It isn’t inherently sexual. It’s only function is from 0-3 years old to help keep diaper contents and other gross debris out of our vagina. I think my hymen was damaged or broken from horse back riding or sports as a kid

Thats actually a very good question. If you're talking about hard ridges on the wall of the vaginal canal sort of like the roof of your mouth it's totally normal, they're called vaginal rugae.
