PCOS and desperate for advice!!

Lucy

Me and my partner have been trying for the last 4 years. 2 years ago I finally got referred to a fertility consultant who diagnosed me with PCOS 18 months ago.

In terms of symptoms, I do have slightly irregular cycles but only slightly- my cycle is around 30-34 days, but I always have a period each cycle it’s just not always set to an exact date in terms of regularity. I don’t have bad acne, or excess hair as I have seen for most peoples symptoms. I am over weight, but not a sudden weight gain, and don’t struggle losing weight when I put my mind to it.

Does that mean my PCOS is mild?

I recently started to lose weight to try and help. From end of August 2020 to early October 2020 I’ve lost just over two stone, and my BMI is now down so only slightly over the healthy range (although I’m keeping going with it).

I then found out I was pregnant- 6 weeks meaning I conceived early October. Unfortunately we sadly lost our baby at 6 weeks after a successful ultrasound and heartbeat was seen. We’re devastated.

I’m currently waiting for a scan as I may have a uterine polyp- benign but may get in the way for implantation, then my consultant is starting me on clomid when we know the scan is clear. I’m already on metformin and have been for 18 months. But I just have so many questions now?! I just want real people to give me their thoughts and experiences on them....

1- is it a good sign we conceived without intervention? Could it happen again without treatment?

2- could my success in conceiving really all just be because of my weight loss?

3- could it be that my PCOS is mild given I don’t have as stronger symptoms as I keep reading about? Or is that my hopeful thinking?

4- I’ve ordered a mira fertility tracker to try and help, has anyone with PCOS found that this worked for them?

5- it feels like I will just never get pregnant again after our loss. Does anyone have success stories with PCOS and treatment / no treatment?

Thank you all so much for any advice you can give ❤️❤️❤️
