transvaginal ultrasound safe for baby?

So I just made my first appt and I’m so excited.. it will be for my 8 week check up and they advised they could do a ultrasound but it would have to be transvaginal. Now I’m nervous because I seen that it could have some blood on it and that makes me nervous for the baby..how safe is transvaginal ultrasound and can I push to get the abdominal ultrasound instead?￼￼

Yes it’s completely safe. I have to get one done every month to check my cervix length.
I’ve never had bleeding just mild cramping for an hour afterwards.

It’s safe and better because they’ll be able to get a better view of the baby. Spotting after a transvaginal ultrasound is normal and is just caused by your cervix being more sensitive, it doesn’t hurt the baby at all.
