I have Covid, but you’d mistake it for a cold.

🦊

Hello,

So I’m writing this to (hopefully), bring some awareness, and potentially persuade some people who may feel as though they don’t need to get tested, to get tested! None of my symptoms at the beginning fell under the umbrella of symptoms, that the Government would suggest you needed to have a test for. My symptoms started on Thursday the 26th, and all I felt was;

- stuffy nose

- sneezing

- congestion

I didn’t have ( and still do not have), a temperature, a persistent contagious cough, and up until 2 hours ago, I still had my full taste and smell.

My gut instinct told me I should get tested, so on Friday the 27th I ordered a test, which arrived on Saturday and was sent out Sunday the 29th, it came back positive on the 30th.

It scares me to think, if I hadn’t gotten tested - or just assumed it was a cold, which you could very easily do! How many people I could have infected, by not isolating as soon as my symptoms started on that Thursday.

I work with a lady who is pregnant, so this probably lead me to being more cautious than usual.

I know that this isn’t going to apply to everyone, but if your gut is telling you to get tested, even if you don’t appear to have Covid, push for it! You may end up saving a life.
