So I fell down a YouTube rabbit hole about castor oil inducing labor for the past week. It became harder and harder to resist. The other day after my 38 week appointment I even stopped at the local drug store to see if they had castor oil 🤦🏻‍♀️. Good thing I didn't find it. So I asked the universe for a sign not to use it. Tonight I finally asked my mom who's had 6 children and have been a nurse practitioner for 25 years. Turns out she tried castor oil to induce labor with me when I was a baby. Her amniotic fluid was green from the meconium and everyone was scared that I swallowed the amniotic fluid (thankfully I didn't) but they also had to rush and use forceps to get me out leaving a permanent mark on my head that can be felt to this day 🤦🏻‍♀️. Long story short don't use castor oil & always consult your mother before you make decisions no matter how old you are 😂.
