Motherhood is Hard... Pandemic Motherhood is Harder

Michelle

Hi all! I feel like I haven’t really been able to enjoy it. I am 36, a first time mom, and am a relatively new mom at that as I have a 7 month old. She was born in the middle of this pandemic and it’s been a struggle. She hasn’t even met her grandparents! We have been staying home, not mingling with others, social distancing, and ordering delivery for food and groceries to try to stay safe and healthy during all of this. This was supposed to be the happiest time in our lives but COVID-19 has made it super difficult and I know it’s difficult for other moms out there too. I can’t even imagine all the virtual schooling and other challenges that also come with older kids. I use an app called Peanut that has helped me meet other moms (virtually for now), but also that has helped me to talk out my pandemic feelings and ask other moms for help or their knowledge. It’s hard to be a first time mom and it’s even harder during a pandemic. It has really been a godsend for me and I wanted to share it with you all here in case there are other moms that need some extra support outside of this community! Being a mom is hard, and pandemic momming is even harder, but just know you are doing an awesome job!
