Bipolar and taking aripiprazole, would you stop this when you’re pregnant although the doctor said it’s ok to take?

Basically seen a fertility psychiatrist and they said it’s ok to take but could make my baby small. I’m not pregnant but just want to be prepared!

I would only do it at a doctor’s direction. Abruptly stopping meds can really mess you up so I would be super careful

When I became pregnant I stopped taking that medication. I was on aripiprazole. My psychologist told me it was up to me if I wanted to safety stop taking it or continue throughout my pregnancy. My psychiatrist and my OB GYN told me that all medication can have side effects to my baby regardless of how little the side effects are. They told me the medication I was on was safe but than again could cause some issues. Also by 6 weeks pregnant I was so nauseous I would of just threw everything up .
I didn’t want to take any chance so my psychiatrist safely took me off the medication. I’m 31 weeks now and the plan is after baby is born go back on something.
