If you have godparents, what is your relationship like?

Do you have godparents or do your children have godparents? What is their role in your life or in your child’s life? My godmother is one of my mom’s friends and my godfather is the friend’s ex husband. I don’t remember anything about the ex husband and I’ve never seen him (at least wasn’t old enough to remember him.) My godmother I see once every couple of years and it’s just small talk if I happen to see her. I just don’t feel like we have a real relationship. Does anyone else feel like this with their godparents?

My Godmother was my mom’s best friend and l grew up calling her my auntie. We had an amazing relationship all my life but she sadly passed away last year. 💔 I’m also a Godmother myself to my nephew.

My godmother is my moms old best friend. I met her once or twice when I was like 7. She lives far away too. My godfather I see maybe once or twice a year. We text here and there. He's my mother's sisters husband... So he's my uncle really.

My godmother is one of my mothers college friends. Me and my mother are estranged and she has been an amazing resource to me throughout my pregnancy. She really stepped up to the godmother roll and has been a true blessing. 
My godfather was my dads brother who passed on. He was wonderful as well. We had a good relationship.

My god parents are my mother's siblings. I have no contact at all to one of them for 10 years now. And very minimal contact but no actual relationship to the other. Just because we never have had a relationship. I think in my culture it's just a thing everyone does but it doesn't mean anything 🤷🏼‍♀️
I converted to Islam before I had children. So obviously my children aren't christened and they don't have godparents (and also since I left the church I guess technically my godparents aren't my godparents anymore either). 
We wrote a will instead stating that if we were to die, we want my mother in law to take our children. (That's the main reason for godparents isn't it?to have someone to raise your kids in the worst case scenario). 
When my mother in law becomes to old or should she die before our kids are grown ups, then we would obviously rewrite our will. I'm hoping we don't have too though because I don't trust anyone else 🤣

My cousins are all 20 years older than me, and one of them is my godfather well my aunt on my other side is my godmother. They don’t have any other role in my life aside from being my cousin and my aunt, no different from my other cousins or aunts. But growing up, if anything had happened to my parents I would have gone to my aunt/godmother.￼

My godmother is my aunt and my godfather is one of my uncles. I hardly talk to my godmother/aunt. And my godfather/uncle I do not have a relationship with him at all, I haven’t in the last three years

My godmother passed away when I was 3 so I don’t remember her, but my great aunt kind of took over. She more or less treated me like a grandchild honestly since she didn’t have any of her own. 
My godfather is my older brother (he’s 15 year older than me) so our relationship is ... well, like he’s my brother.
I have a goddaughter and godson of my own. My relationship with them has been basically just trying to be present in their lives. I live on the other side of the country so I make a point of spending time with each of them when I’m back visiting and I make sure not to miss important days. They also get an extra godmother present for Christmas each year (an ornament signifying something special they did that year). The goddaughter is my niece and she’s about to turn 16. My godson is my cousin’s son and he’s just 1.
