Help!

My almost 2 year old slept on his toddler bed for the first time tonight and wow was that overwhelming. We been co sleeping since he was born mostly because i breastfed and was too lazy to get up every 10 min to feed but anyways, he was very excited about it up until he wanted to come and cuddle w me. Just like I did when weaning jim off I said no and he CRIED for maybe an hour... managed to fall asleep but he keeps waking up Avery so often and just screaming all over again. Any tips on how to make this a fun thing instead of making it seem like time out? Also how long is this crying himself to sleep going to last. I'm due w my 2nd on Feb and I'm stressing 😫
