Is it weird to make a baby registry for your second baby?

We find out in five days if it’s a girl or a boy, we already have a son that is a year old. There are some things I wish I had with him that I’d like to have for this baby, (e.g. formula just in case, a bottle warmer, a nice diaper bag, etc.) Would you buy off of someone’s baby registry if they already had one child? Please say why or why not! I just feel like, since lots of the reactions were “Aw congrats, I feel like you just had a baby!” that people won’t be keen on getting anything and it’ll just be pointless

I made one! Not necessarily with the intent to share it with people and to have them buy from it, more so I have all my wants in one place. Plus most registries send you free stuff and give you a discount coupon to use on items that haven’t been bought!

My son is 9 months old and I’m 17 weeks with my second (another boy) so I won’t be making a registry because they’re only going to be 14 months apart and both boys. I have everything still. I’m sure family will ask if we need anything but I won’t be making a registry though. But if I were having a girl, maybe I would? Especially if they were further apart. But I wouldn’t expect more gifts with my boys being so close together!

I would absolutely buy for a second time mama. Just because they had a child they are expected to keep every little thing in perfect condition and store it for however long for another baby? No way. Sometimes we don't get all the stuff we need the first time, or we realize what would actually be helpful/useful through the experience of the first baby. There's nothing wrong with a registry for your second, you're not forcing anyone to go look at it. So if someone wants to get baby or you stuff at least they know what to get! Do what suits you and your families needs, ignore people who say otherwise.

We made one before we knew we were having a different gender then our first. I did it more of a check list for myself. My sister actually bought some outfits for my son off of it.

I know people that have baby showers for each baby. I don’t see it as a problem. If I’m invited and can go then I get a gift just like I would if it was the first baby.

Honestly girl your comment hit so close to home lol I have a 16 month old so I wasn't sure if I should either, but I think I'll just do an Amazon registry. Seems like a good option during a pandemic also 🤷🏼‍♀️

I am making one! I’m not sharing it with anyone, except for people who ask to see it like my mom and sister, but the main purpose for me is to help me organize my list of things I need and to get a discount at the end when I use my completion discount. I don’t think I’d buy anything off someone else’s second baby registry, especially if the first baby was born just a couple of years ago, but I’d probably send a sweet card congratulating them with a gift card for maybe $50 just to acknowledge a new precious life coming into the world. My second baby is the opposite gender as my first so most of the things I’m registering for this time are pink gender specific items, but I kept all of my bigger items from my first 3 years ago. I am buying a new bassinet and high chair though.

I 100% would. I used my registry like a shopping list for myself, and if others want to buy things from it great. If it’s your first kid or your 10th kid, people will always buy you something. Might as well make a list of things you know you want and need. There are so many things I know we’re gonna need new when we have our second because they get so worn out and over used. Like bath towels, crib sheets, clothing, bottles etc.
