Is Metro vaginal gel safe during pregnancy

I have bv and its so hard for me to keep the pills down. I instantly get sick and throw it up and I don't have naseau during my pregnancy. I am approximately 14 weeks and thats why the doctor was against using the gel but since I cant keep the pills down they said its fine. I just want to know you guys experience dealing with BV during pregnancy during the first and second or third trimester using the gel if you so did I just want to make sure my risk is low of premature birth and defects or anything like that because they were so against it and then now they're saying I can use it. Im 23 and a first time mom.
