Period while on birth control pills?

I’ve been on bc pills for almost 6 years now. I stopped taking them towards the end of September and started taking them again the beginning of November. The end of the first week of active pills, I started spotting. It’s been on and off for 2 weeks. I have 2 more days of active pills before the sugar pills. Although I want to skip my period this month, I don’t know if that will mess it up even more. Is this normal? What do I do?
