Does anyone else worry about their child’s soft spot closing too early? I know it’s not very common but it freaks me out and find myself occasionally checking to see if it’s still open

I didn’t even know that was a thing. I’m actually always paranoid something or I will touch it to hard. Even when I just strike her head I get paranoid. But I have PPA so I get irrational sometimes lol

I think I read if closes at around 18 months old

Yes! My husband and his older brother both had this happen to them and they both had to have surgery to correct it. My mother in law said it was around 3-4 months old when she noticed with both boys and then they had to have the surgery at 4 months. My son is almost 3 months old and I check it daily. I know I’m being paranoid about it and the pediatrician is aware of my concerns and she says it’s not likely hereditary and I should be worried but I’ve been worried about it since I found out I was pregnant and then even more because it was a boy and I just have this fear since it was a boy he would be just like his dad and uncle and need the surgery.
